Aug. 8--Florida Central Railroad opened a mile-long spur line this week to serve the Florida Auto Auction, allowing the big wholesale auction company in Ocoee to move thousands of automobiles by rail.
The auction, located near Florida's Turnpike and the Western Expressway, transports about 300,000 vehicles a year to and from the property. The shift to rail for a portion of the deliveries will take hundreds of big trucks off the roads.
