Aug. 10--Veggies, berries, herbs and other produce grown under the midnight sun are getting a major promotional boost this year. The Nerland Agency, an Anchorage advertising and public relations firm, has adopted Alaska Grown, the state effort to promote local produce, for a year. For free.
State agricultural promoter Doug Warner joked that he has mixed feelings about the infusion of marketing savvy, talent and energy worth tens of thousands of dollars.
