GENEVA, Aug 11 Asia Pulse - Following the completion of negotiations between Taiwan and Panama on the signing of a free trade agreement (FTA) Friday, the two sides will notify the Committee on Regional Trade Agreements (RTA) under the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Yen Ching-chang, Taiwan's permanent representative at the WTO, said that once signed, the free trade agreement between Taiwan and Panama will be the first of its kind that the island has achieved under the framework of the WTO.
