Australian Shake-up
The Australian retail market is experiencing a shake-up with regard to consumers' preferred retail trading format. Increasingly, shopping centres are being placed under extreme pressure, as their former strategic advantage--positioning themselves as providing a convenient shopping alternative--is slowly eroding. However, the strip-shopping (or high street) format is also experiencing difficulty. The only retail format to experience strong growth has been bulky trade.
