Article: Kotos, choruses, or cellos: comparing music education management in the United States and Japan.

Margaret Wyszomirski's comparison in 1998 of cultural policies in the United States and Japan focused on "identifying key systematic assumptions and characteristics" (Wyszomirski 1998, 268). In this article I build, to some degree, on her exploration of policy implications and link professional music organizations' concerns about audience development with music education.
