One gets the idea pretty quickly that David Eger shoots as straight with his mouth as he does with a 7-iron. Friday, after finishing the first round of the 3M Championship at the TPC of the Twin Cities, Eger was asked to think back about 20 years.
Specifically, why his first stab at professional golf didn't work out.
"I had a wife and I had to pay bills," he said, "and my golf game wasn't good enough to do that."
