Aug. 12--Calling the University of Miami a "bully," a group of Coral Gables residents says it will fight the school over a proposal to expand student housing to the edge of the neighborhood.
The battle has raged for almost a year, with UM trying to convince its determined neighbors that a $40 million project to house 1,120 students will not overwhelm them with cars and noise.
The residents say UM should build its apartments someplace else -- like the center of campus, where other dorms are located.
