Aug. 12--PLANT CITY, Fla.--A major storm could send polluted water from the holding ponds of a phosphate processor into English Creek, and wastewater from one pond may already be seeping into the intermediate a...uifer, a state regulator said Monday.
Coronet Industries has seven interconnected holding ponds to store and treat wastewater from its animal feed supplement factory. State regulators had several concerns after recently examining the brimming ponds, including fears that one pond could be seeping wastewater that could contaminate wells in the area.
