First Data Corp. of Denver has hired a former Treasury official to oversee the global compliance of its Western Union Financial Services Inc. and other payments services units.
Christine E. Carnavos was named the senior vice president of global compliance for the company's payment services businesses, a newly created position. Her appointment was announced Monday.
Ms. Carnavos, who will start Sept. 15, has worked in regulatory compliance for more than 25 years. From 1998 to mid-2002 she was the executive associate director of the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network; she headed the office of compliance and regulatory enforcement. ...
