More than two dozen athletes, parents and the coach of Moorpark High School's softball program rallied Tuesday in support of a proposed $7.3 million gymnasium - the same day a report commissioned by the school district came out backing the project.
But neighbors opposing the gym because of noise and traffic said the report, prepared by district officials, was biased.
The fate of the 2,500-capacity gym - set to be built this summer and slated for completion by the end of 2004 - is to be decided next Tuesday by the Moorpark Unified School District board.
