Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Kevin Appier threw six shutout innings,
allowing just three hits, to lead Kansas City to an 11-0 victory over the New
York Yankees in the rubber match of a three-game series at Kauffman Stadium.
Appier (8-8), who was signed by the Royals after being released by Anaheim in
late July, pitched for Kansas City from 1989-99. He won in a Royals' uniform
