THE pioneering breast cancer drug tamoxifen is being abused by some Welsh bodybuilders in a bid to achieve a macho image.
They are thought to be using the drug to counteract the feminine side-effects caused by using large doses of anabolic steroids to promote muscle definition.
Levels of steroid and other drug use among gym users in the South Wales Valleys are similar to those in the United States, a study by the University of Glamorgan has found.
