Aug. 15--For two hours Thursday afternoon, fear swept through the caverns of Wall Street that terrorists might once again shut down trading at the largest stock exchange in the world.
Forty-five minutes after the power went out in New York City, one shaken Wall Street worker who lived through the terror of Sept. 11, described her computer going blank for a few moments before a backup generator kicked in.
That was at 3:11 p.m. Dallas time. By 5 p.m., the New York Stock Exchange announced that it would open for trading as usual Friday, even if it had to use ...
