SEATTLE _ He has torn apart the rest of the baseball, so why would this place be any different?

Thursday night, Toronto first baseman Carlos Delgado, first or second in the American League in 10 categories, took one last shot at a Safeco Field that has always been a friendly place to him.

Some 800 feet of a home run and a triple later, Delgado had added his league-leading 26th go-ahead run batted in and sent the Mariners and Gil Meche to a 5-2 defeat.
