THEY gathered beneath the London Eye in the evening sunshine, 120 total strangers each holding an open umbrella and a banana.

Now it could, of course, have been an amazing coincidence - they might all have been expecting rain and feeling peckish.

But then, as one, they suddenly waved their brollies, bit into their bananas, turned with outstretched hands towards the giant ferris wheel ... and started worshipping it.

As passers-by watched in astonishment, the impromptu congregation chanted in unison at the Eye: 'O wheel of fortune, turn for me.' Minutes later, they were all gone - with barely a banana ...
