The Brazilian dairy cooperatives Central Leite Nilza (Sao Paulo state) and Cemil (Cooperativa Central Mineira de Laticinios - Minas Gerais state) partnered and are studying a possible merger. With the merger, it would be created a central with capacity to collect up to 850,000 liters of milk per day. Currently, Leite Nilza processes 750,000 liters of milk per day, but collects only 350,000 liters from the affiliate producers, acquiring the remainder in the spot market.
