Aug. 17--BURBANK, Calif.--More Latinos and people of Armenian ancestry live in Burbank now compared with 10 years ago, but those of Western European descent still dominate the city, according to recently released Census 2000 figures.
But while the figures show increases in almost every racial group -- which for the first time asked people to mark their ancestry -- the number of whites decreased, either because more whites claimed roots in other ethnic groups or because they simply left the city.
