Pushing and pulling the pedals, arching the back, braking for turns and watching the trail as much as the scenery: This is the way Denver's Dan Hershberger usually spends his time in Waterton Canyon.
But recently, he and his wife Domonique decided to strap on backpacks and take a walk through the heart of their home state on the Colorado Trail, a walk that required five weeks and began with a labor-intensive journey along Hershberger's favorite biking trail through Waterton Canyon.
