Q: My sister and her husband recently threw a birthday party for their 5-year-old daughter that included pony rides, a visit from Cinderella (who gave each child a "magic gift"), a cake that rivaled my wedding cake, and needless to say, a glut of expensive gifts including a doll that looked just like her and "her first diamond." At one point, I thought they were going to put her on a throne and parade her through town. Our 5-year-old daughter attended and now thinks that we should throw an equally lavish bash for her next birthday. Your thoughts, please.
