It has taken almost 40 years, but Randy Newman is finally warm and fuzzy - sort of.
To kids and parents, he is the writer and sometime singer of such endearing soundtrack gems as You've Got A Friend in Me (Toy Story) and When She Loved Me (Toy Story II).
``Ah yes, kindly old Geppetto, that's me. I was glad to have the opportunity to write something that flirted with the mainstream,'' said Newman, calling from his home in Los Angeles.
``I get 4- and 5-year-olds coming to my concerts. They love about two songs and after that they get a funny look on their faces,'' Newman said.
