Dear Editor, -As someone who was born in, and lived and worked in and around Birmingham for most of my 67 years, I welcome the Post's hard-hitting Get Moving campaign, but question whether the proposed pounds 150m refurbishment of New Street station will achieve much.
Certainly the station should look a lot nicer, be more pleasant for passengers and provide two additional platforms. However, it needs more than two platforms and in particular it needs new tunnels to provide sufficient rail capacity to overcome the current chronic track ...
