2003 AUG 25 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Chronic low dose radiation from Chernobyl produces characteristic bladder lesions and changes in protein expression that may relate to radiation damage and oxidative stress; these lead to multiple urothelial carcinomas.
According to a study from Japan, "The incidence of urinary bladder cancer in the Ukraine increased from 26.2 to 43.3 per 100000 population between 1986 and 2001, after the Chernobyl accident.
