2003 AUG 25 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Unknown AV-fistula can cause a post-traumatic hematoma of the thigh.
According to recent research published in the VASA-Journal of Vascular Diseases, "A case is reported of a 28-year-old patient with gradually developing massive swelling of the right thigh after sustaining a blunt trauma.
Three and one-half months after the injury, surgery was performed because of a persisting tumor at the thigh. Intraoperatively, massive bleeding occurred, the bleeding vessel was sutured," wrote H.J. Bail and colleagues, Humboldt University.
