2002 SEASON IN REVIEW: Last year was one of the best seasons in recent North
Texas football history, as the team recorded a winning record (8-5) for the
first time since rejoining Division I-A in 1995. The Mean Green also won the
Sun Belt Conference title for the second consecutive year, finishing with a
perfect 6-0 mark in league action. Dating back to last season, the Mean Green
have won 11 straight SBC games. Their last conference loss came in 2001 in a
