Last week, I wrote about the interesting critters that were cruising my line of blueberry bushes for fallen morsels. This week, I found I had another not- so-charming visitor in the blueberry patch - a rat.
Since then the neighbors and I have come to realize that we have a population of black rats, or roof rats, as they are sometimes known, in our area at the North End. At least I think they are black rats, from everything I have heard and read. The difference between them and Norway rats is hard to distinguish.
