Aug. 23--One year after winning a national award as Montana's savviest small business, Mountain Mudd is being sued for financial fraud by more than two dozen investors, including several prominent Billings business people.
The investors in the coffee kiosk businesses allege owners Brenda Burkhartsmeier and her husband, Dennis Burkhartsmeier, have moved millions of dollars around in three Mountain Mudd corporations and diverted money for their personal use.
One allegation is that they used company money and employees to build a lavish, six-room cabin on 12-acre site ...
