NEW YORK, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Competition in grocery is getting fierce. Super Centers Wal-Mart and Target, warehouse clubs Costco and Sam's, and dollar stores Dollar General and Family Dollar are taking a bite out of traditional grocery stores. Consumers love the new formats. Traditional supermarket share of the grocery dollar has shrunk from 77% to 63%, initiating a major industry shakeout.
