A successful career in the NHS had left independent specialist dermatology nurse Sara Burr increasingly taking on management roles but craving a return to direct patient care.
Her search for fulfilment took her to remote villages in Tanzania where patients suffering from lymphatic filariasis--or elephantiasis--were living in isolation, ignorant of the causes and treatment of this debilitating disease.
