Robert J. O'Connell of West Yarmouth, a retired teacher, died Thursday in West Yarmouth. He was 75.
Born and raised in Brockton, he graduated from St. Patrick School, Coyle High School, Fordham University and later earned his master's degree in education from Bridgewater State College. He had lived in Abington since 1955, before moving to West Yarmouth in 1997.
Mr. O'Connell was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a high school business teacher for 34 years before he retired in 1988. He spent the majority of his career teaching at Brockton High School. He also taught at Abington High School and Whitman-Hanson High School.
