* Western Nonwovens, Carson, CA, has embarked on the second phase of its multimillion capital improvement plan intended to improve its manufacturing capabilities. The company will install a new thermal bonding line at its Western Synthetic Fiber facility in Carson, CA. The line, which was custom designed by N. Schlumberger Inc. for WNI, can produce uniquely competitive products. Construction on the new line is expected to begin this summer.
Also included in the initiative is the consolidation of WNI's Bonded Fiberloft facility in Commerce, CA to create a Pillow Center of Excellence that will improve WNI's efficiencies in shipping, handling, operating costs and ...
