IF THEY could, West Ham would surely bottle the elixir of life that is Trevor Brooking and lock it in an Upton Park vault - ready to recall at any time dark days come calling.
In the short tenure that is expected to be his second caretakership, there is little chance of the West Ham legend curing all the ills that once again threaten his beloved club.
