Aug. 27--The chairman of a multibillion-dollar global company wants to plunk down hard cash to help redevelop Fort Lauderdale, propel the city farther into the international orbit enjoyed by such cities as Miami -- and provide more job opportunities for black American and Caribbean contractors, to boot.
