DAVAO CITY The government of the United States (US) has widened its contact with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in an effort to fast-track the peace process in order to achieve a lasting peace in Mindanao.
In a statement, MILF vice chair for political affairs Ghazali Jaafar said the US government, through its embassy in Manila, has been consulting with MILF leaders on the resumption of the peace negotiations between the Philippine government and rebel group in Malaysia.
