Colorado is changing the way it administers its sex-offender management program, which has drawn national attention in the wake of the rape charge against Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
Peggy Heil, director of the Sex Offender Treatment Program for the state Department of Corrections, was told Tuesday she is being reassigned and her program is being merged with drug and alcohol treatment.
Heil did not return calls seeking comment Tuesday, but her reassignment raised eyebrows among others in the sex-offender- treatment field.
