Col. Robert J. Stevie had a different perspective on life, said his son, Robert W. Stevie, of White Oak, Ohio.
That could explain his work during World War II as a counter intelligence agent, ferreting out Germans who had tried to pass themselves off as American soldiers, and his task after the war tracking down thousands of lesser functionaries of the Nazi regime sought by the Allies.
That could explain his returning to school in middle age to get a master's degree in education from Xavier University, and using it to launch yet another career as a teacher and a counselor in schools in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
