New Analysis: Cuts for Cancer Care Proposed by Congress, Administration Could Total $193 Million in Oregon; Cuts Threaten Patient Access, Especially in Rural Communities.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- A new national analysis released today by the Community Oncology Alliance (COA), an organization that represents community-based cancer clinics across the United States, shows that the Medicare package that Congress is set to vote on could cut $193 million for cancer care in Oregon over the next 10 years.

The state data, based upon a proposed $16 billion cancer care cut nationally, also acknowledges a marked increase in incidents of cancer over the next 10 years, due primarily to an aging baby boomer population.
