NEW YORK -- Liz Claiborne, Inc., knows what its customers want, according to retailers.
That knowledge, coupled with good quality and value, explains Liz Claiborne's cornerstone positioning in better sportswear departments across the country, which sometimes edges out other vendors for floor space.
"Claiborne's success has continued at a time when other resources have been losing ground," said Pam Petit, divisional merchandise manager for Maison Blanche, Baton Rouge, La. "We have increased their space in most stores by 25 percent over the last year."
