Interest In US Health System Surges Abroad
NEW ORLEANS--While some in the U.S. push for adoption of public health insurance systems from abroad, people in those systems are flocking to here to see how our private health insurance system can help solve their problems, said Carl J. Schramm, president of the Health Insurance Association of America, at its annual meeting here.
"The juggernaut is out of the garage everyday for national health care in the U.S.," Mr. Schramm said, adding that Congress believes the Canadian system is better. In the meantime, Canada is transferring "really sick" Canadians to U.S. hospitals with high technology. "Why are the ...
