Cox System Unveils Plans For All-Fiber Trunk Rebuild
The long-awaited thaw in cable's rebuild market appears to be getting under way, led by a fiber-to-the-feeder project in Cox Cable's Spokane, Wash. system that is the largest all-fiber trunk installation yet scheduled by an MSO.
Other companies now taking the plunge to the new star/bus hybrid fiber/coaxial design, first endorsed by American Television & Communications Corp., include Comcast Cable in Palm Beach, Fla., and NewChannels Corp, in Troy, N.Y.
