PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local SKS POWER SDN BHD recently awarded a power plant construction contract to Japan-based SUMITOMO CORP. According to the terms of the award, SUMITOMO will be responsible for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.
Construction plans call fore building a coal-fired power station with an installed generating capacity of 1000 Mw. The new facility, to be sited in southern Johor state, is expected to cost about $1,300,000,000 to build.
