The fourth edition of a report into the health and welfare of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people has been released. Attending the launch of the biennial report, compiled by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian Institute of Health & Welfare, Ted Wilkes, the Centre for Developmental Health's associate professor, says he believes the health and longevity of indigenous people will improve over the next decade.
