Two weeks ago we told you that the Teachers College at Columbia University in New York had disclaimed any part in Project Independence, the pilot program that is to give nearly 6,500 students in Independence County and Cave City a wireless touch-screen computer in lieu of textbooks.
Since then, Sandi Morgan of KidzTel Inc., the New Hampshire company heading up the project, says that while there is no contract with Columbia, the two are in the "memorandum-of-understanding stage."
