SPATIAL ABILITY TESTS measure how individuals deal with material that is presented in space--in one, two, or three dimensions--or how individuals orient themselves in space. Specifically, spatial abilities "have to do with individuals' abilities in searching the visual field, apprehending the forms, shapes, and positions of objects as visually perceived, forming mental representations of those forms, shapes and positions, and manipulating such representations mentally" (Carroll, 1993, p. 304). One aspect of dynamic spatial performance (DSP) is the prediction of where a moving object is going and when it will arrive at its predicted destination.
