Aug. 31--PHNOM PENH, Cambodia--Japan is poised to propose a set of measures aimed at helping the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) deepen its economic integration, Japanese government sources said Sunday.

The package consists of measures to strengthen trade and investment ties between Japan and the 10-member ASEAN, increase ASEAN industries' competitiveness and support less-developed new ASEAN members, the sources told Kyodo News.
