I might as well admit it: Summer is drawing to a close. And as I pack up for my junior year, I am reminded of why I picked my second home, Bryn Mawr College.

Like every responsible high school student, I read (most of) the college catalogues that were sent to me, every glossy page proclaiming the virtues of a particular institution.

But I already had my heart set on Bryn Mawr, a sister-school on Philadelphia's Main Line.

Aside from Bryn Mawr's significant academic offerings, the college had a powerful draw: it had Katharine Hepburn - that icon of class and intellectual elegance - as an alumna.
