The producers of The Puppetry of the Penis are hoping to find enough ``wiggle room'' in the Colorado liquor code to allow the show to go on.

Helen Gonzales, Denver's director of Excise and License, said this week that nudity and alcoholic drinks don't mix in this case under city law.

Puppetry, which is slated to open Sept. 30 at Denver Civic Theatre, involves two men twisting their privates into 45 positions. The ``play'' has been performed all over the world, sometimes by working around local liquor laws.

If Denver Civic Theatre attorneys can't convince Gonzales to find a way around the letter of the liquor code, ...
