CPAs Brown, Flippo Top PAC List
WASHINGTON - Although the accounting profession raised some $3 million to influence the outcome of last year's Congressional elections, there's reason to believe that these contributions had little impact on the complexion of new House and Senate.
Indeed, the Accounting Today "CPA PACs" analysis of campaign fundraising activity by Political Action Committees organized by AICPA and Big Six partners found that some 90 percent of the profession's contributions went to entrenched incumbents - Senators and Representatives almost certain to be re-elected with or without help from accountants.
