Seven Network is to lease about 6,000 square metres of refurbished space in a former navy complex in Sydney. It will move its headquarters to the Pyrmont-Ultimo area. There is already a concentration of media companies in the area. Some of the television and publishing group's broadcast units, and corporate and sales staff, will move to Pyrmont, while studio productions will remain at Seven's studios at Epping. The Pyrmont property's new owners are a consortium comprising Babcock & Brown, Barana Group and Citta Property Group. Seven has said the move is a cost-cutting exercise.
