Kent L. Lingafelter used to drill for oil in Oklahoma and West Texas. Now he's drilling through mountains of garbage in search of gas.
It was a lucrative switch.
Mr. Lingafelter, a founder and chief executive officer of Organic Waste Technologies Inc. in Middleburg Heights, said he expects his sales to double to $12 million this year as demand for the removal of potentially dangerous methane gas from solid-waste landfills continues to rise.
He said sales for 1992 should be $15 million to $20 million, and by 1993, he expects the sales to hit $25 million.
