First, Brian Wahlbrink saved Eugene's lead.
Then he padded it.
The Ems center fielder made a diving catch to end the top of the eighth inning, then belted a solo home run in the bottom of the inning for insurance in Eugene's 2-0 win over Vancouver on Sunday evening in front of 3,258 at Civic Stadium.
"That was a good ending for me," Wahlbrink said.
Vancouver trailed 1-0 when Dustin Majewski and Danny Gibbons led off the eighth inning with back-to-back singles. Those two runners remained on first and second with two outs when Brian Snyder hit a line drive that Wahlbrink tracked down and ...
